"Men of Freedom", written September 11th, 2001, performed by the Cadet Glee Club of West Point
I penned these lyrics during that horrific day and week following the September 11th attacks on our World Trade Center and Pentagon. Like everyone across America, I was overwhelmed with sorrow for those innocent Americans murdered that day, some of who were my friends. As so often happens with such heart-felt losses, the sorrow gave way to anger; the anger gave way to the desire for vengeance. "Terror they wield, dark holes their shield, hoping we will yield." How terribly wrong they were; how little they knew of America; how little they knew of a people living in Freedom; how little they knew of our faithfulness. "Don't they know we'll stand fast, next to those who have passed." Ten year...

"Mansions of the Lord" performed by the Cadet Glee Club of West Point

It was this hymn that inspired the production "Stand Ye Steady Songs of Courage and Inspiration". During the closing credits of the movie "We Were Soldiers", I heard this hymn sung by the Cadet Glee Club of West Point. After listening to it over and over, moved by its reverent lyrics sung to a melody that healed a generation of soldiers so unjustly held in scorn and, at the same time, conveying...

I uploaded this production to celebrate the safe return of Captain Patrick Henshaw, a U.S. Army Ranger, from his tour of duty in Afghanistan where he and his men hunted IEDs. Who is Capt. Patrick Henshaw? He is the Cadet located in the back row and in front of the gray West Point flag singing this very moving song written by the great songwriter and Irishman, Phil Coulter. My audience has alway...

"Dot-Dot-Dot-Dash, Dot-Dot-Dot-Dash" - listen to the opening timpani as it beats the Morse Code for the letter "V" for Victory. Today is the 67th anniversary of the landings on the Normandy beaches D-Day. Paul Anka's song about D-Day, June 6, 1944, celebrates the invincibility of the Great Generation that landed, fought and won there. The three parts of this beautiful arrangement the first ever...
"Jerusalem" performed by the Cadet Glee Club of West Point

I included this song in the repertoire of "Stand Ye Steady" to honor our steadfast friends and allies from the UK. If ever a song embodied a call to action, this is it! Accompanying the Cadets is the world's largest church organ exquisitely played by Craig Williams. The ending chords resonate with devine majesty as Craig "pulls out all the stops". The performance of "Jerusalem" can be seen and ...
Gen. Douglas MacArthur, Lea Salonga, Cadet Glee Club of West Point and "Via Dolorosa"

The legendary General Douglas MacArthur has left the American people with many memorable statements, but how many of us know that during his farewell address at West Point, he gave the most truthful "job description" of those brave men and women who put themselves in harm's way for our defense. It was stated simply, starkly and poignantly, "The soldier, above all other men, is required to pract...

Thank you West Point ... You did us Brits. proud!
Thank you it means a lot god bless 🙌
Never to be divided, we back each other all day long and as a Brit I am happy you are my cousin.
If you ever get the chance to attend a choir or choral service in an old European cathedral you must seize the opportunity. The stonemasons built them as towering temples. But they also were built to deliver phenomenal sound. I was working on a tv shoot, and was quietly doing some paperwork whilst filming occurred. The UK military band struck up the piece and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I closed my laptop and really listened to the music. It was captivating. 😊
They sang this song in the movie chariots of fire
The English 🏴 true national anthem
Wonderful, heart stirring, magnificent...Thank you...❤
Looks like Hillory Clinton directing
that was lovely never heard this song sung other than in the UK. Thanks you our allies always the USA
I always thought this should be our anthem. Scots have their own so we should.
Well sung. I have been singing this since school in the 1970s (and even harder was the school hymn player on the piano and this was not an easy one to pay on the piano)... and even now it still has such an effect on me. We will always here in the UK stand with the USA.
And bless you guys too, from the UK
Thank you America 🇺🇸 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧
Absolutely brilliant
I was lucky enough to hear and see the Texas A and M band march into Kyle Field playing this, the Corp of Cadets following the band.Singing it.Cadet Corp had to be 2,000 strong.
Beautiful rendition dear cousins. Thank you 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Do they know what this song is about
The Greatest Generation ! Selfless too!
Thank you

It's the best version I've heard.. ❤❤💯. From English Patriot
The might of the United States is our comfort and possibly our saviour in time to come😃👍🇬🇧
We’re all friends now😂😃👍🇬🇧
Will they sing this when we sink into oblivion urged on by those who rule us.
It's a huge honour to hear this hymn performed by our closest Allie across the pond thanks so much it makes my eyes go all teary😢🏴✨🇺🇲 it's a shame our kids in new Zealand don't know if this fine piece of music, instead our kids learn bullshit te reo wiata because being proud of your English heritage is classed as being racist
A great honour. One love brothers and sisters
Did you know that particular pipe organ at West Point Chapel is largest in the states not sure about the world?
アメリカ人 歌上手いかも 😀
I totally agree Best I've heard ever
Beautiful rendition! 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Thank you my American cousins for such a beautiful rendition of my favourite song
Really beautiful Thank you USa
Thank you
Beautifully sung. I wonder if they'd be allowed to sing this now. I'd like to think they would.
William Blake. The most beautiful of men....
I’m an American, but I know my family history. Almost all my ancestors are from England and I could not be prouder to be their son.
I feel exactly the same and all my ancestors are from the UK as well
Let’s have it right the founding fathers of the United States considered themselves Englishmen before the war of independence
Thank you America for this. Please dont forget us in these dark times. Let not the Kremlin subordinate those of us that share our combined values.
Very nice indeed.
William Blake’s poem with wonderful music, sung beautifully by a great choir. Thankyou
when the second verse starts it is spinetingling.
Your son is a hero, plain and simple, no question, no doubts
That was so wonderful to hear.
Sounds silly, but this always brings a tear. Brings back memories and puts things into perspective for many. Amazing.
Greetings from the UK to our cousins across the Pond. In the last 24 hours, in the Middle East, American and British aircrews have flown into combat, side by side once again. This rendition of 'Jerusalem' by the cadets of West Point is utterly beautiful.
Exquisite and breathtaking.
The Queens guardsmen played THE AMERICAN ANTHEM on 911 outside BUCKINGHAM PALACE no other COUNTRY has ever had there NATIONAL ANTHEM played by BRITS.And they broke a 800 year tradition as well as the Queen asked the GUARDSMEN to play it...
PS, How about 'Land Of Hope And Glory' ?
Written at a time when, being the common man, you were treated worse than a slave. Slaves cost money, 'peasants' didn't. 'Those dark Satanic mills' should give you a clue. Thank you for such an excellent rendition of one of my favourite pieces. I suppose 'Rule Britannia' would be pushing my luck too far. However, as our The Royal Navy now consists of 3 rowing boats and a beached punt, I thought I might get lucky. I jest of course, but I doubt it would take 3 days to pass at Spithead as it did for Queen Victoria. 20 minutes should do. Again, Thank You.
"Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand", is my kick-butt to self phrase!
